What's Happening

🌿 Want to help keep our trails looking great? No 🌿 Want to help keep our trails looking great?

No commitment. No pressure.

Join our Trail Grooming WhatsApp group and jump in whenever you have a couple of hours.

Typical posts might look like:
👉 “I’m heading out to trim “high roller” tonight. Looking for someone to rake behind me.”
👉 “I’ve got a spare trimmer, rake, and loppers. Anyone want to help knock out this section?”

Come when you can. Stay as long as you want.

The reward? Trail karma, and the satisfaction of riding, hiking, or running a trail knowing you helped make it safer and more enjoyable.

Who maintains Saskatoon’s singletrack? Most peopl Who maintains Saskatoon’s singletrack?

Most people think it’s the City or Meewasin.

It isn’t. It’s us.

The Saskatoon Trail Alliance is a group of volunteers who maintain 25+ km of singletrack throughout the city. Every trail you ride, run, or hike doesn’t stay open by accident—it stays open because volunteers spend their evenings and weekends cutting back brush, clearing deadfall, and maintaining the trail.

To put it in perspective:

* It takes 3-4 volunteers about 3 hours to trim just 1-2 km of trail.
* That’s roughly 16 volunteer work nights just to complete one pass over our trail network.
* In a wet year like this one, the vegetation grows so quickly that many of us spend more time trimming than riding.

How can you help?

🌲 Become a member. Memberships help us buy tools, maintain equipment, and organize larger trail maintenance nights.

✂️ Volunteer. You don’t need experience—just a willingness to help. There is nothing quite like riding, hiking, or running your favourite trail knowing you helped keep it open.

📣 Spread the word. Tell every trail user you know about the Saskatoon Trail Alliance. If you enjoy the trails, one of the easiest things you can do is encourage a friend, riding buddy, runner, or hiker to become a member. The more people who know we exist, the stronger our community becomes.

🤝 Join the board. Love social media? Event planning? Fundraising? Grant writing? We need more than trail workers—we need people with all kinds of skills to help our organization grow.

Right now, we’re doing everything we can just to keep the weeds under control.

But imagine what we could accomplish with more volunteers and members:

* Better signage
* New trail construction
* A skills park
* More community events
* Continued maintenance of the trails we all enjoy

Look at what the Edmonton Trail Alliance has built with a strong volunteer community. There’s no reason Saskatoon can’t do the same.

The trails belong to all of us. If everyone gives a little, we can build something incredible.

Whether you become a member, volunteer for a trim night, join the board, or simply tell one other trail user about us—you’re h
Trail Crew was out again tonight! 3 groups. Brodie Trail Crew was out again tonight! 3 groups. Brodie, Jamie, James and Ryan cut Chad and Joeys from the Circle bridge south, Rebecca, Gerald and Morgan cut from College Bridge North. Still a bit by the weir and devils dip to do. Trail crew was out tonight! We got Ravine Stove, C Trail crew was out tonight! We got Ravine Stove, Corkscrew, and Lower Peterson (from Ravine to Corkscrew) all trimmed up.

To be totally transparent, our storage facility was recently broken into and our trail tools were stolen. Thankfully, insurance came through, we’ve replaced the equipment, and we’re back up and running, big thanks to @rhinosmallengine_yxe.

Annoyed when the trails get overgrown? Come join us on a volunteer night! There’s something incredibly rewarding about hiking, biking, or running down a section of trail that you helped maintain. 🌲🚵‍♂️🥾
